Releasat is a Rapid Read Biological Indicator containing SGM strips and a specially formulated soy casein culture medium containing an indicator that changes color to yellow when spores develop. Releasat indicators are available for the Dry Heat and Ethylene Oxide processes. The indicator provides appreciable visual results in 72 hours as opposed to the 7 days required with the use of conventional culture media. Releasat medium is used to grow SGM strips instead of conventional soy casein media, providing faster reading of results. The quality of each batch of Releasat has been tested with SGM strips.
